IU and Park Bo-gum’s Young Actors Grow Over 10cm Since “When Life Gives You Tangerines”?

The child actors who portrayed IU and Park Bo-gum’s younger selves in the highly anticipated drama When Life Gives You Tangerines are back in the spotlight—this time for how much they’ve grown since filming.
Kim Tae-yeon and Lee Cheon-mu, who starred as the younger versions of the main leads, appeared on the May 3rd episode of JTBC’s “Knowing Bros” (Episode 480) alongside other rising child stars in celebration of Children’s Day.

During the broadcast, Kim Tae-yeon revealed, “We filmed the drama two years ago. My hair’s grown out, and I’ve gotten over 10 centimeters taller—I’m now 159 cm.” Hearing this, her co-star Lee Cheon-mu chimed in, “I’ve grown more than 10 centimeters too. My hairstyle is also back to how it was before.”
The transformation wowed the cast and audience alike. Comedian Kim Hee-chul joked, “You’ll be taller than Uncle Soo-geun soon,” adding a humorous touch to the moment.
Interestingly, though Kim Tae-yeon is three years older than Lee Cheon-mu in real life, he played her older brother in the drama. Reflecting on the experience, Tae-yeon commented, “If we weren’t wearing school uniforms today, people might not even recognize us.”

Their appearance on “Knowing Bros” has reignited interest in “When Life Gives You Tangerines“, a drama that has already generated significant buzz thanks to its star-studded cast, heartwarming story, and now, the adorable growth journey of its youngest actors.
